The guests at the world’s biggest design award, Index: award 2013 at Kulturværftet had the chance to try UiWE’s new urban urinal: StreetPee. It was a truly inspiring award show with a great line up of innovative projects, raising ones hope in humanity. UiWE and Sara Nanna won a bid to design a new toilet for the City of Copenhagen, specially fit for the urban context. As users include drug users and vagrants, there are special requirements regarding robustness and security. The toilet stands out from other toilets by being more open to the context – though still offering privacy for the users. Rather than having a sealed off inner space, the urban floor is drawn into the construction. A urinal is integrated on the back.

PeeBetter presents innovative urinal concepts for huge street parties
For use at this years Copenhagen Distortion Festival, two new urinal concepts has been developed by PeeBetter to accommodate pee-needs at the festival, and others alike. The results offer incomparable hygiene and great alternatives to the claustrophobic plastic containers or hidden street corners that are usually the options.

Wednesday the 30th of May at 5 PM UiWE and Sara Nanna opens at Distortion. We present two prototypes to address pee needs in public space: Pollee for the ladies and Simple P for the guys. Come for a drink and a pee!

PeeBetter is a platform designing human solutions in public space launched by UiWE. We are currently working on two designs as well as strategic approaches to handle pee culture.

Serious business and a lot of comments on the popular Norwegian webpaper ABC Nyheter. Ekstrabladet also wrote about our ambition to make it easier for girls to pee at parties and festivals and PeeBetter was on the frontpage of Metroexpress. Furthermore, Christian was talking on national radio P4 explaining what makes PeeBetter special.
