PeeBetter and UIWE present Pollee – our first prototype for a new, shared female urinal. Pollee is an open air, touch-free urinal made for a semi-squat position.

We made three different variations of our female urinal to test and evaluate at Roskilde Festival and online.

PeeBetter aims to design new solutions to the challenge of peeing in public space – both on product and planning level. Have a look at some sketches from our design proces for Pollee – the female urinal below. It’s been quite a ride, including a huge a mount of interviews and discussion, hundreds of models and open air protoptype testing (and peeing) in Copenhagen! Pollee is designed by culture design agency UiWE with designers Nuala Collins and Sara Nanna Jørgensen.

Making the perfect urinal isn’t easy. We want to improve Pollee and would love to hear your thoughts. Please feel free to share ideas on peeing – and how to make it easier.

PeeBetter is dedicated to making it easier to PEE in PUBLIC SPACE. With Pollee we’ve tried to make a simple PEE SOLUTION for GIRLS. As fans of peeing in the outdoors, we wanted Pollee to be LIGHT and FRESH. But with a few small touches we’ve made it a bit more COMFORTABLE and private than just dropping your trousers. We’ve made Pollee a shared TOUCH-FREE urinal, because most girls prefer that. Our hope is that Pollee becomes a QUEUE-KILLER, enabling girls to get the peeing over and done with quickly, and move onto the more IMPORTANT things in life.

PeeBetter is a platform for developing human solutions to peeing in public space – for both sexes. We unite cultural understanding, urban planning skills and design thinking to find genuine solutions to people’s genuine needs.

In the next years we plan to design, develop and produce solutions fit for the need to pee in public space – be it parties, festivals or sport events. We work integrated with design and planning solutions – all with a clear focus on the user experience. To us, it’s all about understanding the needs of people and create solutions that work.

PeeBetter is developed by Copenhagen based culture design agency UiWE in collaboration with Sara Nanna and a multidisciplinary team, uniting cultural professionals, architects and designers.
